How We Approach Learning

These programs aren't about memorizing formulas. We believe you learn financial planning by actually doing it—building models, spotting problems, fixing mistakes, and discussing your reasoning with others.

1

Case-Based Sessions

Each week brings a new scenario drawn from real companies. You'll prepare your analysis beforehand, then we discuss different approaches as a group. Sometimes there's no single right answer, which is kind of the point.

2

Peer Review Structure

You'll swap work with classmates regularly. Looking at someone else's spreadsheet often reveals things about your own approach. Plus, explaining your logic to others helps solidify what you actually understand.

3

Incremental Complexity

We start with straightforward monthly budgets, then gradually add layers—multiple departments, currency considerations, seasonal patterns. By week ten, you're handling scenarios that felt overwhelming at the beginning.

4

Direct Feedback Loops

Instructors review your submitted work within 48 hours. Comments focus on methodology and reasoning rather than just checking if numbers match an answer key. Most people find this more useful than grades alone.

Who Teaches These Programs

Instructor portrait

Dr. Helena Voss

Lead Instructor, Forecasting Programs

Helena spent twelve years doing financial planning for mid-sized manufacturers before moving into education. She's particularly good at explaining why certain forecasting methods work better in different contexts.

Her background includes work with companies navigating rapid growth phases, which means she's seen plenty of budgets fall apart under real pressure. That experience shows up in the case studies.

She holds a PhD in Applied Economics from Yonsei University and still consults with a handful of clients between teaching sessions.

Application Process

We review applications on a rolling basis starting six months before each cohort begins. The application asks about your current role, specific forecasting challenges you face, and what you hope to gain from the program. No formal prerequisites for the foundational course, but the advanced program requires demonstrated Excel proficiency.
